Shining a Light on Safety: Mascot Memorial Park Gets a Radiant Upgrade with Casambi Smart Lighting Controls.

In collaboration with Elec Comm Services and Light Project NSW, Afterglow Controls delivered a significant lighting upgrade to Mascot Memorial Park for Bayside Council. This initiative was a crucial part of the "Her Way" project, dedicated to creating safer public spaces for women and girls after dark.

The transformation of a public space into a secure and welcoming nighttime destination necessitates thoughtful planning and skilled execution. Due to its closeness to Sydney Airport, Mascot Memorial Park's project faced singular difficulties.

Transforming a public space into a safe and inviting environment at night requires careful planning and execution. In the case of Mascot Memorial Park, the proximity to Sydney Airport presented unique challenges. Stringent control measures were essential to ensure the lighting design didn't interfere with aviation operations.

This exterior project demanded robust solutions, especially concerning the metal enclosures and specific performance requirements. We ensured the lighting was both functional and aesthetically pleasing. A key feature of the upgrade was the installation of DMX controllable lights. To achieve seamless integration and control, we utilized CasDMX modules. We also incorporated a timer backup and a Casambi ASD, which triggers the dynamic lighting show in sync with the existing photoelectric cell. This ensures the park is illuminated precisely when needed, enhancing safety and visibility.

The result is a beautifully lit park that not only improves safety but also creates a welcoming atmosphere for everyone in the community. We're proud to have contributed to the "Her Way" project and to have worked alongside Bayside Council to make a positive impact.
