At Kittyhawk, a newly reimagined music bar in Sydney’s CBD, lighting plays a leading role in shaping the guest experience. Afterglow Controls partnered with Lucian Architectural Lighting, Curious Labs and Steel + Stitch to deliver a highly flexible, wireless lighting solution powered by Casambi.

The result is an immersive, mood-rich environment where lighting evolves throughout the night. A carefully curated colour palette of ultra warm white, burnt amber and deep red sets the tone. From early evening drinks to late-night dancing, Casambi enables seamless time-of-day scheduling while also allowing staff to fine-tune scenes in real time to match the energy of the room.

Casambi’s powerful control system unifies a wide mix of lighting types across the venue, including LED strips, RGBW fixtures, wall grazers, interior and exterior architectural lighting, decorative pendants and even legacy fittings. All are brought under one intuitive platform that delivers deep dimming control down to 0.1 percent—critical for maintaining the moody, intimate vibe Kittyhawk is known for.

Remote access via the installed Casambi gateway allows Afterglow to provide ongoing support through an iPad interface, ensuring that lighting performance and ambiance stay consistent night after night, even after hours.
